Obituary

William Grayson Gormley 82, of Gettysburg departed this life on May 22, 2011 peacefully and quietly, the same way he lived his life.

Bill was born in Gettysburg on October 16, 1928, son of the late Richard and Oneida (Biesecker) Gormley. He graduated from Gettysburg High School in the class of 1946. Shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Army. He served honorably and proudly with the occupation forces in Germany during the post WW II era.

After his military service, Bill was employed by the U.S. Department of Defense at various locations including Letterkenny Army Depot; Rock Island, Illinois; Vietnam and Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. He was a member the American Legion Post 202 and the VFW Post 15 both in Gettysburg.

He is survived by three brothers, John and his wife Joan of Towanda, PA; Fred of Winfield, PA and Tom and his wife Missy of Biglerville, PA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
