Obituary

William G. Clinedinst, 93, of Biglerville died Saturday April 12, 2008 at the Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village. He was the loving husband of Madeline V. (Martin) Clinedinst his wife of 68 years who preceded him in death on August 22, 2007.

He was born June 17, 1914 in Mt. Jackson, Virginia, the son of the late Robert Jackson and Lillian Alice (Estep) Clinedinst.

Mr. Clinedinst was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Buchanan Valley and was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster for over 45 years. He was retired from the Philadelphia Bricklayers and Masons Union Local No. 1, Philadelphia, PA and was a WW II veteran serving with the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his children, Robert William Clinedinst and his wife Joan of Port Orange, FL; Lillian Louise Gingrich and her husband Edward of Hernando, FL; Arlene V. Briggs of Biglerville and David Grayson Clinedinst of Biglerville, a sister, Vivian Elaine Clinedinst of Woodstock, VA, eight Grandchildren, Wendolyn J. Lyng of Florida; Dwayne Clinedinst of Washington State; Bonnie Blewitt of Florida; Tammy Walker of Kansas; Sherry Jaschen of New York; Bryan Gingrich of Missouri; Shawn Clinedinst of North Carolina and Michael Clinedinst of Biglerville, 12 great grandchildren, Justin; Tyler; Sterling; Savannah; Matthew; Marcus; Lucas; Jonathan; Candice; Benjamin; Mariah and Katie and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Kermit Clinedinst and three sisters, Mildred Hoffman; Thelma Fadley and Helen LaRue Guess.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday April 15, 2008 at 1PM at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church (Buchanan Valley) 1095 Church Road, Orrtanna, PA. Father Kenneth G. Smith will be the Celebrant. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of Mass at the Loyola Center adjacent to the church. Interment with full military honors conducted by the Adams County Allied Veterans Council will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be, Robert Clinedinst; David Clinedinst; Michael Clinedinst; Tony Martin and Ed Gingrich.
