Walter D. Clapsaddle, 66 of Gettysburg passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jean H. (Harman) Clapsaddle, Gettysburg.

He was born December 5, 1945 in Gettysburg the son of the late Wilson C. and Anna (Shank) Clapsaddle.

Walter served his country faithfully with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was recently retired. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, playing cards and was a life member of the NRA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Troy J. Clapsaddle, Gettysburg, step-children, Gregory Orndorff, Eldersburg, MD, and Alan Orndorff, Gettysburg, brother, Stephen C. Clapsaddle, Hanover, sister, Maryanne Clapsaddle, Gettysburg, three step-grandchildren, Tyler, Grant and Gary.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1 PM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Pastor Marty Kiggins officiating. A time to share memories will be from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
