Roy Robert Reedy Jr., 92 of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare Gettysburg Center. He was the loving husband of Betty J. (Witmer) Reedy.

Born October 3, 1922 in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Roy Robert and Esta Irene (Sibert) Reedy.

Roy was a veteran of WWII from 1943-1946. Upon his return from duty he and his brother, Alton, did custom farming for 17 years before establishing Reedy Brothers Company John Deere Dealership from which he retired from in 1980.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by, son, Terry L. Reedy of Franklin, TN; two daughters, Karen J. Shupe of Biglerville and Lori A. Ulrich and her husband Tom of Gettysburg; two grandsons Taylor D. Shupe and Joshua W. Ulrich of Gettysburg; granddaughter, Rebecca J. Ulrich of Gettysburg; great grandson Jackson D. Shupe of Gettysburg, and brother Wayne Reedy of Fayetteville.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by, five brothers, Ralph, Alton, Paul, Eugene "Bud", and Barron Reedy, and five sisters, Evelyn Murray, Louise Miller, Arlene, Janet, and Gloria Reedy.

A service to celebrate the life of Roy Reedy will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul's The Pines Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Oxford.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Roy's memory to St. Paul's The Pines Lutheran Church Cemetery Association.
