Gladfelter, Sr.

He was born April 7, 1948 in Hanover, the son of the late Philip W. and Ruth (Luckenbaugh) Gladfelter.
Ron was an electrician by trade and owned Gladfelter & Sons Electric for a number of years. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was wounded twice; the second injury sent him back to the States where he recovered from his injuries at Walter Reed Hospital. A disabled American veteran, Ron loved his country, his family and his Lord. He attended Cornerstone Worship Center in Hunterstown.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by three sons, Andrew Luckett, Gettysburg, Ronald Gladfelter, Jr., Greencastle and Daniel Gladfelter and his wife Sandra, Gettysburg, 10 grandchildren, Jayne and Amanda Luckett, Bambi Reifsnider, Rebecka Leasure, David, Ron, III, Bill and Josh Gladfelter, Kristina Colon and Brittany Gladfelter, eight great grandchildren, Kalie, Kiari, Brandon, Isaiah, Oakley, Silas, Sophia and Malachi, a brother, Philip L. Gladfelter and his wife Linda, Stevens, PA, three sisters, Joyce Anthony, Dawn Laughman and Rose Trish all of Hanover and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Gladfelter, a sister, Ruth Hartlaub, a grandson, Brandon Lee Gladfelter, brother-in-laws, Henry Laughman and Ralph Hartlaub and a nephew, Scott Laughman.
His greatest loves were his family, his dogs, Lady and Molly, his flowers and watching the birds and animals.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Dale Welty officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home. A second viewing will be held on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors conducted by the Adams County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
