Rita Moyer Crawford, 76, of Hanover passed peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Hanover Hospital. She was the wife of the late John O. Moyer, Jr. who died March 6, 1993.

She was born April 25, 1939 in Kingsport, TN, the daughter of the late James and Nora (Murray) Ketron.

Rita was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed visiting Tennessee and playing cards and video games. Rita was a devout Christian and former member of Salem United Methodist Church and more recently was attending Freedom Valley Worship Center, Gettysburg.

She is survived by her children, Betty J. Warner, Chambersburg, Alan Moyer, Gettysburg, Michael Moyer, York, Kathy Moyer, Hanover and Mark Moyer, Hanover; her sister, Mary Bowers, Greenville, TN; her grandchildren, Jennifer Miller who she raised as her daughter, Alison Flores, Rebecca Sainer, Brooklin Moyer, Sarah Moyer, Kennedy Moyer, and Kaitlan VanDuzer; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Emig.

A service to celebrate the life of Rita Moyer Crawford will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11 AM at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Pastor Marv Stanley officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
