Richard E. "Dick" Cullison, 82, of Orrtanna, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Green Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born October 7, 1926, in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of the late Florence Wilkinson.
Dick was a veteran of the US Navy having served his country honorably during World War II. He was employed for over 45 years with the Robert Lentz and Tom Culp Farms, retiring in 2000. Dick was a member of many local social clubs and organizations, and he loved fishing and hunting.
Surviving is his daughter, Doris A. Weaver and her husband Dennis of Gettysburg; one grandson, Gregory P. Weaver and his wife Candace of East Berlin; one great-grandson, Callum J. Weaver; his close friends, Tony and Mary Jane Schuman of Orrtanna; and his close friend and caregiver, Dottie McDannell and her husband Mark of Orrtanna.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Flohr's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 595 Flohr's Church Road, McKnightstown, with Rev. Thomas Darr officiating. Viewing will be held between 12 and 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Flohr's Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Culp, Tony Schuman, Wayne Baker, Gregory Weaver, James McDannell, and Mark McDannell.
The Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, is in charge of arrangements.
