Richard W. "Pappy" Adams, 84, of Gettysburg passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Gettysburg. He was the loving husband of Patsy A. Adams who died September 27, 2012.
He was born September 29, 1931 in McSherrystown, the son of the late George Henry and Bernice L. (Ruth) Adams.
Mr. Adams was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg and was a dairy farmer. He also enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Rudisill, Gettysburg; grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Rudisill, Lebanon and Andrew William Rudisill, Gettysburg; great granddaughter, Jasmine Rene Koontz, Lebanon; sister, Shelby Bowser, Biglerville and brothers, Kenneth C. Adams and Philip E. Adams both of Gettysburg.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary G. Adams and Dorothy E. Adams.
A service to celebrate the life of Richard W. Adams will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Rev. Michael E. Allwein and Rev. Tricia McMackin officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
