Ralph "Wayne" Rippeon, 75 of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Genesis Healthcare Gettysburg Center. He was the loving husband of Dorothy Rippeon; together they shared 44 years of marriage..
Born Wednesday, February 10, 1943 in Taneytown, MD, he was a son of the late Elmer and Helen (Weishoar) Rippeon.
Wayne was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend; he loved his family and cherished the time spent with them. He babysat his two great nieces, Mindy and Heather Baker, for 4-5 years and loved them dearly. During his working life wayne worked at 3M Company in Westminster as a machine operator for 30 years retiring in 1997 and then woked at Farrell Gas Company in Taneytown for several years. In his free time Wayne loved to go crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay; he was also a member of the VFW Post 6918 in Harney, MD, a social member of the VFW Post 15 in Gettysburg, Eagles Post 2226 in Littlestown and the AMVETS in Fairfield.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by two sisters, Lois Smith of New Windsor, MD, Shelvia Fox of New Oxford; a step-son, Michael R. Hewitt of AZ; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer "Fud" Rippeon, Leroy Thomas Rippeon, and a sister, Arlene Stahley.
There will be no public viewing, services will be private and at the convience of the family.
