Obituary

Paul E. Trump, 88, of Glenolden and formerly of Gettysburg passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Francis Country House, Darby, PA. He was the loving husband of Mary Alice (Lower) Trump who died April 5, 1991.

He was born December 19, 1924 in York Springs, PA the son of the late John and Daisy Mae (LaRue) Trump.

Paul served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II and after his honorable discharge graduated from Eckles College of Mortuary Science. He began his long and dedicated career in funeral service with the Pittenturff Funeral Home, York Springs. Paul later worked at Videon Funeral Home, Drexel Hill, Rothermel-Videon Funeral Home, Havertown and was the supervisor of the Peters Funeral Home, Gettysburg. He was a faithful member of St. James United Church of Christ, Havertown, served as President of the Optimist Club, Upper Darby and was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Gettysburg Elks Club. After retiring, Paul worked for COSA, County Office Services for the Aging, Upper Darby and served as a crossing guard in Glenolden.

He is survived by his son John Trump, Harrisburg, daughter, Cheryl Trump and her partner Pat Haley, Glenolden and his dogs, Hope and Joy.

Paul was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Trump and sisters, Esther Guise, Mabel Stambaugh, Edith Chorley, Alma Smith and Fay Trump.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Rev. Kim Blocher officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 1PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors conducted by the Adams County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 7 PM at St. James United Church of Christ, 135 Myrtle Ave., Havertown, PA with The Rev. Lynn P. Lampman officiating.
