Nancy L. (Smith) Bowers, 81 of New Offord, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at home.

Born September 21, 1934 in York Springs, she was a daughter of the late Clarence H. and Ruth H. (Myers) Smith.

Nancy was a loving woman who loved to spend time with her family; she enjoyed going on trips and being a member of the Recycled Teenagers.

Nancy is survived by her four children, daughter, Barbara Ann Topper and her husband Joseph, Jr. of New Oxford, son, Jay Kenneth Bowers and his wife Darlene of Hanover, son, Daniel Harold Bowers and his wife Sherry of Littlestown, daughter, Anna Marie Cox and her fiancé Robert Altice of New Oxford; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Lorna Runk of New Oxford, and many other loving extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents Nancy, was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Lehigh, Dora P. Fitzberger, and a brother, Charles Smith

A service to celebrate the life of Nancy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle, St. Gettysburg, with Rev. Shawn M. Berkebile officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 100 E. Water St., Abbottstown, PA 17301.
