Michael Scott "Mikey" Miller, Jr., 27 of Littlestown went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of Shayla M. (Yiengst) Miller of Littlestown.
He was born July 30, 1984 in Gettysburg the son of Jerri Lynn (Plank) Hall, McSherrystown and Michael Scott Miller, Sr., Richmond Hill, GA.
Mikey attended Hanover First Church of God and was a dock supervisor with Nationwide Southeast Trucking, Hanover. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Gettysburg Eagles, McSherrystown Fish and Game Association, McSherrystown Moose and the McSherrystown Home Association. His family and friends meant the most to him.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a large and loving family, step- father, Carl Hall, McSherrystown; step-mother, Barbara Miller, Richmond Hill, GA; step-parents, Don and Sherry Bixler, Hanover; daughter, Brooke Lynn Miller, Littlestown; step-children, Joshua Gayman, Brodie Heeney, Jordan Heeney and Carson Heeney all of Littlestown; brothers and sisters, Tessa Laughman and her husband Wayne, New Oxford, Cory Bixler, McSherrystown, Lindsay Bixler, McSherrystown, Jake Bixler, Hanover, Justin Koerner, Hanover, Kelsey Koerner, Hanover, Lucas Koerner, Hanover and Bryant Reese, Fairfield, maternal grandparents, Jerry and Carol Plank, Gettysburg, paternal grandparents, Elwood M. and JoAnn Miller, East Berlin, step-grandparents, Glenn and Barbara Bixler, Hanover, father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Jane Yiengst, Gettysburg, brother-in-laws, Dana Yiengst, Gettysburg and Terry Yiengst, Dover, nephews, Zurich Bixler, Hanover and Parker Laughman due April 27th and loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Isaiah Michael Miller and his maternal grandmother, Linda Lou Plank.
A service to celebrate the life of Mikey will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11 AM at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover with Pastor Jerry Shoap officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM and on Thursday from 10 to 11 AM both at the church. Burial will be in Benders Lutheran Cemetery, Biglerville. Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Bixler, Adam Miller, Wayne Laughman, Jason Lawrence, Robert Miller, Leon Gouker, Bryant Reese and Lucas Koerner.
Contributions may be made to a trust fund for Mikey's daughter Brooke to the New Oxford branch of Susquehanna Bank.
