Obituary

Mary Louise (Tracey) Slick, 88, of York Springs and formerly of Littlestown, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was the wife of CSM (RA) Richard L. Slick, her husband of 57 years, who passed away in 2002.

Born August 4, 1922 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Merle C. and Lillian M. (Shaffler) Tracey.

Mary was a homemaker and a dutiful Army wife. She was active in many auxiliary activities in the diverse areas in which she resided, from New York to the shores of Hawaii, with her husband and family.

She was a member of Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, MD, and the Smithsburg Historical Society. Mary was also an avid reader and enjoyed needlework.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa L. Slick and her husband Philip S. Soslowitz of York Springs; her daughter-in-law, Anita Slick of Columbia, TN; her brother, Ivan Tracey of Smithsburg, MD; three grandchildren, Christian L. Famiglietta of Chattanooga, TN, Adrian L. Slick, and Angela M. Slick, both of Columbia, TN; two step-grandchildren, Elisa Torres and Shari Soslowitz, both of Plainview, NY; six great-grandchildren, C.J., Jayden, Leanna Marie, and Alexis, all of Columbia, TN, Zachary of Chattanooga, and Ethan of Plainview; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jack and Phyllis Boyle of York, PA and Joe and Mary Slick of Smithsburg; sister-in-law Sari Kilheffer of Smithsburg; the extended family of Tara Kugler-Graham of Chattanooga; her dear friends Alan and Cass Mummert who kept her up-to-date on the comings and goings of Littlestown, where she resided for 40 years; and her extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with Rev. George P. Heberling officiating. A viewing will be held beginning 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
