Mary H. (Agnello) Sanders, 86 years of age, passed on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Mary was born on August 21, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, not far from Johns Hopkins Hospital to Joseph V. Agnello and Helena (Reigle) Agnello.  She was the second of four daughters, one (Joan Butler) who has preceded her in death. She attended Third English Lutheran Church in Baltimore as a young lady, where she met her first husband, David Hall Krebs, Sr.  They had two sons, David Jr., of Naples FL and Timothy, who precedes her in death.

Later, Mary met and married the love of her life, the late Thomas C. Sanders, Sr., on May 25, 1991.  They lived in Gettysburg, PA, then in Fairfield, PA, for over 30 years.  She worked at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as an administrative assistant until she retired in 1995.

Mary was very active in the community.  She volunteered at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, at the Fairfield Meals on Wheels, and as a Salvation Army bell ringer.  She also sang in the Gettysburg Civic Chorus as an alto for many years, and volunteered as a foster parent at the Adams County Children's Services.

Mary leaves behind two sisters (Lynn Fetsko and Rosemary Witcoff), her son, David, four stepchildren (Priscilla Dukehart, Patricia Garrison, Thomas Sanders, Jr. and Susan Kiessling), five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many friends and a few special 'earth angels'.  She was an amazing cook, a wonderful wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held in private by her family.
