She was born March 4, 1924 in Lewistown, PA the daughter of the late Lloyd and Margaret (McCormick) Zook.

Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Gettysburg Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and the Gettysburg American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Paul Lenig and his companion Cecilia of Dillsburg; Judy Jacoby of Biglerville; James Lenig of New Oxford; Kathy Starner and her husband Nathan of York Springs; Deborah Brady and her companion Bernard Lemaster of East Berlin and William Lenig and his companion Tina Shreve of Bendersville, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Garrett Jacoby.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 12 noon at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Pastor Dan Summers officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Starner; Garrett Jacoby; Eugene Miller; Jack Ringler; Kip Spangler and Bernard Lemaster.
