She was born December 3, 1928 in Fairfield, PA the daughter of the late Earl and Clara (Kittinger) Mickley.

Mrs. Cool was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed life, especially time spent with her grandchildren. She was a graduate of Biglerville High School and was a member of the Orrtanna United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cool had been a seamstress with sewing factories in Gettysburg, Bonneauville and New Oxford. She also worked at the Gettysburg Shoe Factory and was employed as a cook with the Dutch Cupboard and the Lamp Post, both in Gettysburg.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons; Samuel Cool, Jr. and his wife Linda of Fairfield, Bradley Cool and his wife Susie of Gettysburg, Ronald Cool and his wife Brenda of York and Brian Cool and his companion Barb of Gardners, two sisters; Dorothy Moose of Biglerville and Carrie Wampler of Aspers, two brothers; John Mickley and Kenneth Mickley both of Biglerville, five grandchildren; Virginia Wheeler, Jessica Cool, Mandy Cool, Jennifer Dayhoff and Brandon Cool, and three great grandsons; Christopher Toscano, Nicolas Toscano and Sebastian Toscano.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother; Jay Mickley.

The funeral will be Thursday February 28, 2008 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Suzanne A. Elliott officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday February 27, 2008 from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home. A second viewing will be on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be; Samuel Cool, Jr. Bradley Cool, Ronald Cool, Brian Cool, Jeff Cool and Kenneth Mickley, Jr.
