Marlyn H. (Rosenberry) Myers, 83, of Gettysburg, died Monday, September 15, 2008 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frederick W. Myers, who died November 30, 2001.
Born October 17, 1924 in Fort Loudon, PA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond R. and Olive M. (Gift) Rosenberry.
Mrs. Myers was a member of the Gettysburg United Methodist Church where she helped with the Snowflake Festival and was a member of the Sunshine Class. A loving mother and grandmother, she was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. In particular, she loved tending to her flower garden and cooking for her family, especially Christmas dinner.
In her free time, Mrs. Myers enjoyed spending time in nature, especially during the turning of the leaves in the fall, and listening to country music. Her ability to inspire her friends, family, and caregivers will be dearly missed.
Surviving are two sons, Fred M. Myers and his wife Linda of Fairfield, and James E. Myers of Thomasville; her daughter, Rita J. Myers of York; a brother, Robert Rosenberry of Fairfield; a sister, Hazel Gebhart of Gettysburg; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2008 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman officiating. Viewing will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wade Chronister, Yancy Stephens, Robert McGuirk, Jr., and Fred M. Myers.
