Obituary

Marilyn C. Keller, 73 of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Gettysburg Hospital. She was the loving wife of Guy E. Keller; together they shared 26 years of marriage.

Born April 1, 1943 in Honesdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Ethel E. (Tiel) Seipp.

Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Marilyn received an associates degree in nursing in 1964 from Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing and spent the next 30 plus years as a registered nurse; throughout her career she worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground where she helped prepare soldiers for deployment and where she also received the Army Achievement Medal, which is the highest medal a civilian can receive. She worked at Perry Point helping disabled veterans and was HAZMAT-disaster trained. Marilyn had a love for food, she enjoyed going out to eat or cooking for her family; in her free time Marilyn enjoyed camping and crocheting; but most of all she had a passion for taking care of people, especially her family.

In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by her two children, a daughter, Geri Sullivan and her husband Danny of Westminster, MD and a son, Don Snyder of Delta, PA; four grandchildren, granddaughter Laura Dooley and her husband Joe of Hampstead, MD, grandson Greg Ward of Westminster, MD, granddaughter, Kristen Bieniek of Rising Sun, MD, granddaughter, Isabelle Snyder of Columbia, MD; two step-grandchildren, Nikole and Zackary Sullivan, both of Baltimore, MD; two step-great-grandchildren, Landon Laspina and Jaxon Sullivan, both of Baltimore, MD. Marilyn is also survived by a brother and his wife, David and Fran Seipp of Smethport, PA and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Marilyn will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Chaplin Brenda Coffin officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
