Marcella H. Hewitt, 80 of Gettysburg passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Genesis Health Care, Gettysburg Center. She was the loving wife of the late Clarence "Charlie" C. Hewitt who died on December 24, 2005.

She was born on December 26, 1930 in South Mountain, the daughter of the late Paul I. and Helen M. (Staley) Staley.

Mrs. Hewitt was a member of Mt. Joy Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. She was employed as a seamstress with Gettysburg Shoe for over ten years and later with the Bonneauville Sewing Factory. Mrs. Hewitt was also employed with the Gettysburg Family Practice. She spent most of her free time tending to her home as well as babysitting.

She is survived by her brother, Samuel T. Staley, Gettysburg and sister, Dorothy Bair, Littlestown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Staley, Jr. and two sisters, Olive Kump and Coleen Rosenberry.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 1st at 11 AM at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Chambersburg Road, Gettysburg.
