M. Edith Warfield, 86 of Westminster passed peacefully on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Sun Valley at the Meadows Assisted Living, Westminster, MD. She was the loving wife of the late Clarence W. Warfield who died September 10, 2006.
She was born April 8, 1926 in Red Oak, Virginia the daughter of the late Eugene F. and Lavie L. (Clements) King.
Mrs. Warfield was an operator supervisor with the Chesapeake and Potomac Phone Company. Over the years she attended the Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed working in her yard and most of all she enjoyed caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her siblings and was the last of her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Sullivan and her husband Steve of Westminster, MD, son, Bruce Warfield and his wife Susan of Finksburg, MD, grandchildren, Michael Warfield and his wife Debra of Hampstead, MD, Dale Sullivan and his wife Jennifer of Westminster, MD, Kelly Sullivan of Westminster, MD and April Claggett and her husband Charlie of Hanover, PA and great grandchildren, Dylan, Megan, Gina, Brooke, Grant, Logan and Makenzie.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 12:30 PM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Pastor Larry Steen officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be, Bruce Warfield, Steve Sullivan, Dale Sullivan, Michael Warfield, Charlie Claggett and Dylan Warfield.
