Mar 25, 1938 — Apr 21, 2009
Born March 25, 1938 in Gettysburg, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Ada M. (Currens) Koontz.
Mrs. Justice was a member of Mountain Top Ministries in Orrtanna and Grace Lutheran Church in Two Taverns. She was first employed as a packer with Timely Furniture (DMI) in Gettysburg for over twenty years until the 1970s. It was while working here that she met her husband, Jerry. Mrs. Justice was later employed with Westinghouse where she worked with electrical boards.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Justice operated Jerry Justice Excavating and served as the bookkeeper and manager. The couple later owned and operated KEJ Excavating.
A member of the Adams County Farm Bureau and the Adams County Conservation District, Mrs. Justice loved nature, especially flowers. She continued her family's tradition of planting daffodils in the country along Knoxlyn-Orrtanna Road.
Mrs. Justice was an animal lover. Her cats, Snoopy, Gray Girl, and Ringy, were dear to her. She also enjoyed attending auctions and boating at her family's lake house in Raystown. Ever devoted to her family, her big heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, is her son, Larry E. Miller of Gettysburg; her step-daughter, Pam Steinour and husband Barry of Gettysburg; two sisters, Jane Chapman and husband Donald of Orrtanna, and Susan Cool and husband Bradley of Gettysburg; her aunt, Jean Forsythe and husband Clarence of Gettysburg; four step-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at Mountain Top Ministries, 200 Church Road, Orrtanna, with Pastor Kenneth R.W. Reid officiating. A viewing will be held between 7 and 9 p.m. Thursday at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg. A second viewing will begin 10:30 a.m. Friday at church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry E. Miller, Donald Chapman, Bradley Cool, Gary Showers, Jr., Jeff Justice, and Jimmy Knouse.
