Judith (Lanyon) Lewis, 69 of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at
Gettysburg Hospital.
Born December 10, 1947 in East Stroudsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth
(Hoffman) Lanyon. She attended Gloversville High School in Gloversville, NY, earned her bachelors at
Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and earned her doctorate in educational psychology at The Catholic
University of America in Washington, DC.
Judith is survived by 2 children: Brian Lewis and partner Samantha Dupont of San Francisco, CA and Ann
Lewis and partner Brant Jones of Shenandoah Valley, VA; and one grandson, Owen Lewis.
Judith loved British comedies, classic literature, and long hikes in the Gettysburg battlefields with her
children and dogs.
Memorial services to celebrate Judith's life will be held at 10am on Friday, Sept 15, 2017, with a gathering
starting at 9am before the service, at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judith's name may be made to Adams County Library, 140
Baltimore St., Gettysburg, PA 17325.
