Obituary

Joseph D. Scott, 52 of Gettysburg passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024.  He was the loving husband of eight years to Donna J. (Brown) Scott.

Born May 9, 1972 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late William R. and Marlene M. (Ditola) Scott.

Mr. Scott will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his loving and caring personality.  He was always there for anyone in need.  He had a passion for sports and was an especially avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penguins.  He also loved horror movies, fishing and a wide array of music genres, including but not limited to country, classic rock, 90's hits and R&B.

In addition to his beloved wife, Donna, whom he referred to as "Boo-Bear", Joseph is also survived by his son, Brandon L. Scott; three siblings: Linda S. McPherson and her husband Aaron of Pittsburgh, Michael A. Scott of Florida and David A. Scott of Pittsburgh; his sister-in-law, Dawn M. Ault and her husband Robert; his nephew, Nathan A. Brown; his niece, Trinity S. Haage, his faithful dog (furry baby), Lola, as well as many loving extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kourtney A. Scott, his in-laws, Richard A. and Thelma M. Brown, as well as his faithful dog, Brutus.

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 29th at Peters Funeral Home, Inc.; 321 Carlisle St. in Gettysburg.  A time to share memories and visit with the family will also be at the funeral home on Saturday from 12noon until the start of the service.  As a special tribute to Joe, the family invites everyone attending to please consider wearing something with a Steeler's logo, a Penguins logo, or anything green, which was Joe's favorite color.
