She was born February 6, 1946 in Pittsburgh the daughter of the late Albert and Martha (Bukowski) Albanowski.
Jackie graduated from Edinboro University with a B.S. in education and was a substitute teacher in the Gettysburg, Fairfield and New Oxford School Districts. She also taught special education at LIU in Abbottstown. Jackie was later employed with Appleton Papers in Camphill as a lab technician and in the Human Resources Department. An extremely creative designer and decorator, she designed many displays while working for Boyd's Bear Country in Gettysburg. She was an incredible mother, friend, and grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandsons Sam and Jack.
She is survived by her daughter Amy S. French and her husband Mark of Littlestown, son, Sean M. Laughlin of Falls Church, VA, brother, Albert Albanowski, Jr. of Gettysburg, sister, Lorraine Smith of Eighty Four, PA and grandsons Samuel and Jackson French of Littlestown.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 22 West High Street, Gettysburg with Father Bernardo Pistone as celebrant. The family will receive friends and share memories from 10 AM until the time of mass at church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie's memory can be made to Faith in Action of Adams County, 318 West Middle Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
The Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
