Herbert Owen Brown, 66, of Mount Holly Springs, passed away unexpectedly at his
home, Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Born April 19, 1958, in Houston, Texas, Herbert was the son to William Holt Brown and
Jean (Owen) Brown.
Herbert had a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology, received from the University
of Georgia. He worked in different positions over the years, however he was most proud
to be self-employed and owner/operator of Fields of Glory, a Civil War Relic shop in
Gettysburg.
In his free time, Herbert loved hiking. He was especially interested in hiking all of the
Appalachian Trail one day, having already completed a large portion of it before his
passing. He also enjoyed spending his time listening to and playing music on the guitar.
Herbert was a very social person who loved partying and hanging out with his friends.
Herbert is survived by loving daughter, Elena N. Brown of Philadelphia, as well as his
sister, Julie Brown Dey, and his stepsister, LeeAnne Brown Newton. He also leaves
behind former wife, Carmen Brown, with whom he shared many years of marriage.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held in the future to remember Herbert's
life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making contributions in memory of Herbert to
