Harold L. "Red" Yingling, 83, of Gettysburg, died April 13, 2018. Born December 19, 1934, he was a son of the late Lloyd J. and Phyllis (Motter) Yingling.
Red was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Navy's submarine force for four years; after his hitch in the Navy, Red was employed with the Southland Corp., Dallas, TX and managed the ice-cream division branch in Gettysburg covering parts of PA, MD, W.VA, and VA.
Red was a member of the Masonic #336 Blue Lodge of Gettysburg, member of Post 202 American Legion, life member of the National American Submariners, Tristate Club of Submarine Veterans Holland Club, and a life member of the Barlow Fire Company.
Red, with his wife Betty and sons, Keith and Kevin, were also antique dealers in the Gettysburg and surrounding areas and were nationally known in the industry.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Betty J. Yingling, two sons, Keith and his fiancé Kami Grim and Kevin Yingling with grandchildren, Owen, Elena, Patience, Charity, Hope, and Faith, and great grandchildren, Aviana and Autumn, all of the Gettysburg area. Red is also survived by his brother, Larry Yingling of Blair, NE.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Red will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Intersection Church, 1980 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The family will receive friends to share memories of Red from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
