Obituary

Gregory J. Weber, 75 of Gettysburg passed away at home on Friday, October 4th, 2024, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Gwen D. (Eyler) Weber, whom he married on August 31st, 1980.

Born May 23rd, 1949 in Drexel Hill, PA, he was a son of the late Harry and Kathryn (Held) Weber.

Gregory is fondly remembered for his exceptional talents as a master carpenter, furniture and cabinet maker.  He was a skilled craftsman, spending every spare moment in his woodshop even making all the furniture in his own home.  He retired from the Gettysburg National Park Service where he spent his career restoring historic structures and homes in the Gettysburg area.  His legacy is preserved to be admired by all in the work of his skilled hands.  In addition to his carpentry talents, he also enjoyed hunting, golf and bluegrass music.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Weber is also survived by two children: Justin A. Wallen of Newport, PA and Colleen F. Wallen of Philadelphia, PA; three sisters: Karen Inverso and her husband Joe, Natalie Costello and Nina Weber, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings: Michael Weber and Andrea Draves.

A memorial service to celebrate Gregory's life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 15th at Peters Funeral Home, Inc.; 321 Carlisle St. in Gettysburg.  A time to gather with the family and share memories will also be on Tuesday at the funeral Home from 10:30 am until the start of the service.
