Obituary

Glenn E. Sell, Sr., 92, of Gettysburg, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at Transitions Health Care , Gettysburg. Mr. Sell was the husband of Mary Louise (Beck) Sell who passed away November 14, 2004.

Born May 30, 1921 in Westminster, MD, he was a son of the late Serenus and Grace (Brown) Sell.

Mr. Sell was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly during WWII and received the Distinguished Unit Badge with two Bronze Stars. He was employed for 22 years with Glen-Gery Brick, formerly Alwine Brick Company. He was also employed with the Orange County School District in Florida for 6 years.

Surviving are his son, Glenn E. Sell, Jr., and his wife Linda of New Oxford; his daughter, Sandy L. Brohard and her husband John of Gardners; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving is his sister, Edna Boone of Westminster, MD. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Sell was preceded in death by his six brothers, William, Walter, Edgar, Dale, Edwin, and Victor Sell.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Sell will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with Rev. Nathan Shaffer officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg where full military honors will be provided by the Adams Co. Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
