Geraldine "Gerry" L. Witherow, 81, of Gettysburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.

Geraldine was born Dec. 15, 1936 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late John and Sally (Miller) Shaner. She is one of 14 children, including 9 sisters, Betty Jacoby, Katherine Marvon, Mary Orndorff, Susan Kanwischer, Judy Rodriguez, Peggy Burkholder, and 5 brothers, Dean and John Shaner, predeceased by Edward, Benny, and Samuel Shaner, Nancy Morehead, and Florence Deese.

Geraldine was a person of great faith and lived life serving others. She had a kind spirit, a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others.

Geraldine is survived by her four children, Deborah Kingston and her husband Gregory of Biglerville, Lynn Witherow and his wife Teresa of Arendtsville, Diane Ruggles and her husband Terry of York, and Lisa Rebele and her husband Richard of Naples, FL.

She was dearly loved by her six grandchildren Nicole Witherow, Timothy Kingston, Aaron Kingston, Hannah Kingston and Colton Rebele; and five great-grandchildren, Brianna, Arianna, Chloe, Hadley, Paislie, Lucas and Leighton.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter Shelley-Ann Witherow.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018. The family will receive friends at 10 am with service at 11 am at Peters Funeral Home at 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville, PA.
