NEW OXFORD Genevieve "Jenny" Loraine (Wetzel) Weigle, 76, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at HealthSouth Regional Specialty Hospital of Mechanicsburg with her loving family by her side. Born December 3, 1934, in Orrtanna, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ruby (Mickley) Wetzel. She was a Gettysburg High School graduate, and retired from Doubleday Books in 1997. Jenny is survived by a brother and his wife, P. Wendell and Judy Wetzel, of Aspers; four children, Gary Weigle and his wife Diane of New Oxford, Susan Weigel and her husband George of Mechanicsburg, Debra Hughes of Littlestown, Karen Bell and her husband Timothy of New Oxford; twelve grandchildren, Joshua and Cristy Weigle, Julie Strausbaugh, Jill and Steve Smith, Andrew and Julie Weigel, Erin Weigel, Justin Bell, Emilee Bell, Sarah Bell, Jennifer and Cody Selby, Kristopher Weigle, Mandi Hughes and Jodi Hughes; and three great-grandchildren, her pride and joy, Jaxon and Jaden Weigle and Emma Selby. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Douglas Wetzel; Tom, Diane, Benjamin, Abigail, Jacqueline and Allison Miller; and Tynia and Brian Weigle. She was predeceased by her daughter, Bonny Strausbaugh. Jenny was a member of The United Methodist Church in New Oxford. Jenny's celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 5th at 3 PM at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1455 Mt. Carmel Road, Orrtanna, PA. Her viewing will precede the service at 2 PM at the church. Interment will immediately follow at church cemetery. Memorials in Jenny's name may be sent to Passion for Mother's Flowers, 452 Prowell Drive, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
