Gary Lee Funt, Sr., 60, of Gettysburg, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at Genesis Haelthcare, Gettysburg Center.  He was the loving companion of Joyce A. Garner who died April 9, 2015.

He was born May 10, 1957 in Gettysburg, the son of Elsie Irene (Patterson) Funt, Fairfield and the late George William Funt, Sr.

Gary was a custodian at Hanover High School and the Gettysburg Hospital and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his children, Ruth, Irene, Gary, Jr., Amanda and William; step-children, Debbie Fringer and husband Donald, Hanover, Ralph Garner, John Garner, Waynesboro and Travis Lookingbill and wife Amy, Manchester; brothers, George W. Funt, Jr., Waynesboro, Gregory A. Funt and wife Debra, New Oxford, David A. Funt and wife Shirley, Gettysburg and Daniel L. Funt and wife Tonya, Biglerville; sister, Ruth I. Funt, Selinsgrove and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Eugene Funt.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11 AM at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Denton Leppo officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Saturday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Biglerville Cemetery, Biglerville.
