Born December 15, 1939 in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Ernest and Maybelle (Shultz) Sillik, Sr.

Ernie was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Gettysburg. He was employed as a mechanic with Mott's in Aspers and, later, Jacoby Transportation. Ernie served his country honorably with both the National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He was also a life member of AMVETS Post #172, Fairfield.

Surviving is his former wife, Donna Sillik; four children, Melissa Seymore and her husband Matt of Biglerville, Dale Smith of Wellsville, PA, Dave O'Donnell of York, and Mike O'Donnell; his brother, Donald F. Sillik of Aspers; his sister, Betty E. "Peg" Chronister of Gettysburg; and four grandchildren, Selina Seymore, Lexy Seymore, Courtney Seymore, and Kaylee Seymore.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with Pastor Bob Gray officiating. Viewing will be held beginning 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be provided by Adams County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Smith, Bob Toner, Josh Toner, Doug Willman, Bob Toner, Jr., and Dennis Chronister.
