Elizabeth "Betty" (Hake) Myers Huff, 86 of New Oxford entered God's eternal care on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Brethren Home. She was the loving wife of Paul L. Huff, Sr. of New Oxford, her husband of 38 years
She was born January 6, 1923 in Carlisle, PA the daughter of the late Earl Hake, Sr. and Regina (Vance) Murdorff.
Betty was Protestant by faith and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Gettysburg. She was employed for over 37 years with Musselman's in Biglerville. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales, baking and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Shirley Shaffner of Etters, PA, step mother, Helen Hake of York, step children, Gloria Warrenfeltz of Gettysburg; Paul L. Huff, Jr. of Fairfield; Gary Huff of Fairfield; Gene Huff of Columbia, MD; Philip Huff of Biglerville; Pam Shealer of Gettysburg and Gail Huff of Orrtanna, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, great great grandson, 19 step grand children, 19 step great grandchildren and seven step brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Bill Myer and a grandson, Wayne Huff, Jr.
A service to celebrate the life of Betty will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Pastor Linda S. Titzell officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday, September 16 from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home. There will be a second viewing on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Harmon; Earl Huff; Gene Edward Huff; Philip Huff; Gary Huff and Paul L. Huff, Jr.
