E. Marie Wholaver, 82 of Gettysburg passed peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Golden Living, Westminster, MD. She was the wife of Donald O. Wholaver who died March 8, 2006.

Born September 24, 1934 in Lutherville, MD she was the daughter of the late Louis E. and Elma (Greaser) Markline.

Marie enjoyed playing bingo and going shopping. She loved her grandchildren and especially loved chasing her "grandbabies".

Mrs. Wholaver is survived by two children, Deborah A. Krout of Glen Rock, PA and James E. "Eddie" Wholaver of Biglerville, PA; her sister, Janice Eckert of Glen Rock, PA; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four children, Richard Markline, Donald and David Wholaver and Barbara Rankin; three siblings, Edith Gilland, Robert and Kenneth Markline and her grandson Richard Dean Barnett.

A service to celebrate the life of Marie Wholaver will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at East Ridge/Harmony United Methodist Church, 1713 Ridge Rd., Westover, PA 16692 with Rev. Laura McCombie officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Monday evening from 7 to 9pm at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA 17325 and again on Tuesday from 11:00am until the time of service at church. Burial will be in East Ridge Cemetery, Westover, PA.
