Obituary

Dorothy M. (Staub) Brame, 84, of Gettysburg, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was the loving wife of C. Arthur Brame, Jr., her husband of 64 years.

Born March 31, 1925 in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Vivian (Brindle) Staub.

Mrs. Brame was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She graduated from Gettysburg High School with the class of 1943. For twenty years, she owned and operated Dotty's Beauty Shop on Baltimore Street in Gettysburg. After closing her business in the early 1960's, she was employed as an assistant manager with Stuckey's Pecan Shop until retiring in the late 1980's.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Charles A. Brame III and his wife Lynn of Folsom, CA, and Kenneth A. Brame and his wife Robin of Gettysburg; her brother, John Staub and his wife Ave of Gettysburg; her sister-in-law, Marcia Staub of Gettysburg; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Staub and Joseph Staub.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 22. W. High Street, Gettysburg, with Father Bernardo Pistone as celebrant. The family will receive friends beginning 12:30 p.m. Thursday at church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, is in charge of arrangements.
