Obituary

Donald Ray Wolf, 405 Black Horse Tavern Road, Gettysburg, departed this life and entered eternal peace on September 19, 2011. He was born on January 23, 1950 and was the son of Carrie C. Wolf and the late Jay D. Wolf. He resided his entire life in Cumberland Township.

He was a 1967 graduate of Gettysburg High School. He was currently employed by C.E. Williams Sons, Inc. for the past 12 years. He was previously employed by Sixeas Furniture Galleries and the former Reedy Brothers Farm Implements. Farming was always near and dear to him and he spent many hours working on the Wolf Family Farm, Willoughby Run Road, Gettysburg. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Martha Showers Wolf, and his daughter, Kathryn (Kate) Marie Wolf Saylor and her husband Kevin L. Saylor, Walkersville, MD. He was "PopPop" for the past 4 ½ years to a very special grandson, Mason Cody Saylor. He is survived by a sister, L. Marie Rentzel and her husband Ellis Rentzel, Jr. and a brother Philip J. Wolf and his wife Barbara A. Wolf, Gettysburg. He is survived by four nephews, Kurt and Kent Taylor and Jason and Chad Rentzel and two nieces, Amanda Plank and Jaclyn Wolf. Three great nephews and one great niece, Tyler Plank, Leroy Rentzel, Zackery and Sophie Taylor. Three uncles, Stanley Wolf and Rodney Wolf, Gettysburg and Charles Cramer of Dillsburg also survive. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Snowmobile Club of Adams County, York-Adams 2-Cylinder Club, and South Mountain Engine Club. He enjoyed the many hours spent with his Uncle Stanley Wolf learning about classic antique farm machinery.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 23rd at 12 noon at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York Street, Gettysburg with Rev. Michael E. Allwein officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10am until the time of the service at the church.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to scholarship fund of The York-Adams 2-Cylinder, 206 Oxford Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
