Donald Lee Aston, 68, of Gettysburg and formerly of Columbia, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2008 at his residence. He was the companion of Suzan Dorn of Gettysburg.
He was born November 3, 1939 in Columbia, the son of the late David Richard and Viola Elexina (Schaeffer) Aston.
Donald was a biology teacher at William Penn High School in York for 20 years. He was a Mason, belonging to the Columbia Lodge, the Lancaster Lodge and the Virginia Civil War Research Lodge. David was an avid Civil War re-enactor serving with the 45th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans. In addition, he was a member of the Shriners.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the VFW Post #15, 369 East Middle Street, Gettysburg with Rev. Rene Kinard officiating.
