Born January 10, 1931 in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Samuel O. and Ruth A. (Lytle) Nicodemus.
Mrs. Scott was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Gettysburg, where she served on the Food Committee and frequently helped in the kitchen. A homemaker throughout most of her life, she was employed with the Thomasville Elementary School for a number of years. Mrs. Scott loved the outdoors, especially camping in the summer with her family, and flowers. She was a very giving person who loved the Lord very much.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Victoria J. Carpenter of Bryan, TX, and Colleen D. Weyant of Harrison, AR; her son, Timothy L. Weyant of York Springs; two brothers, Ronald Nicodemus of Massachusetts, and Tom Nicodemus of Martinsburg, PA; her sister, Patty Nicodemus; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 at Memorial Baptist Church, 1096 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, with Pastor Steven F. Baker officiating. The family will receive friends between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Wolf's Cemetery, York. The Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, is in charge of arrangements.
