Diana E. (Dillman) Steager, 67 of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Meritus Health, Hagerstown, MD. She was the loving wife of Carl E. Steager; together they shared 43 years of marriage.
Born August 8, 1951 in Gettysburg, she was a daughter of the late William W., Sr. and Goldie E. (Noel) Dillman.
Diana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend; she cared deeply for the people around her and never forgot to send a get well card when someone wasn't feeling well. Diana was also very religious; being a member of Gettysburg United Methodist Church since 1964.
In addition to husband, Diana is survived by a daughter, Joanne M. Shindledecker and her husband Robert of Gettysburg; two siblings, William W. Dillman, Jr., Carolyn E. Dillman, both of Gettysburg; a nephew Jimmy Dillman and his wife Susan of Gettysburg; two grandsons, Brandon and Logan Shindledecker, both of Gettysburg; a granddaughter, Tia Unger of Littlestown and a great grandson Jase Unger of Littlestown. Diana is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her son, Wesley Eugene Steager; three brothers, Robert, Richard and David Dillman, and three sisters-in-law, Helen, Glenda, and Susie Dillman.
There will be no public viewing, following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Diana will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Richard A. Noll officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Flohrs Church Cemetery, Gettysburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gettysburg United Methodist Church, 30 W High St, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
