David was born October 14, 1953 in Gettysburg, the son and step son of Rollin and Doris G. (Taylor) Wolfe, Aspers and Donald and Virginia Thomas, Gettysburg.

He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and was employed with ESAB, Hanover as a machine operator. David enjoyed photography, bluegrass music and playing the fiddle. A skilled carpenter, David took great pride in remodeling his home.

He is survived by, a son, Sergeant Tyler D. Thomas, USMC, Gettysburg, a daughter, Amanda R. Thomas, Dillsburg, his paternal grandfather, Blair Thomas, Aspers, two sisters, Connie Weaver and Ginger Nolder both of Aspers, two brothers, James Thomas, Gettysburg and Larry Wolfe, Aspers, a grandson, Aiden Butler, Dillsburg, a granddaughter, Lauren Pitzer, Biglerville and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of David will be held Tuesday, September, 16, 2008 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg with Pastor Mike O'Behan officiating. A time to share memories and the opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors conducted by the Adams County Allied Veterans Council will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be, Sergeant Tyler D. Thomas, USMC, James Thomas, Derek Thomas, Donnie Weaver, Robert Taylor and Louis Sanchez.
