Darlene Topper
Weaver
Aug 21, 1933 — Oct 15, 2026
Gettysburg
Darlene Topper Weaver, 93, of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 15, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Leo Curtis Weaver.
Born on August 21, 1933, in York Springs, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Chester Ray and Myrtle Irene (Miller) Topper.
Raised in Gettysburg, Darlene attended Gettysburg High School with the Class of 1951. She married Leo in 1953, and together they began a family. A devoted wife and mother, she found her greatest joy in caring for her home and raising her beloved son, Dennis.
Over the years, Darlene worked at Keystone Tile in Gettysburg, George Grawe’s Cannon Cafeteria, and JC Cleaners also in Gettysburg. Above all, her family remained the center of her life. She treasured time spent with those she loved and especially enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. She was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. In the final chapter of her life, Darlene embraced her faith in Christ, which became a meaningful source of comfort and peace.
Darlene is survived by her only son, Dennis C. Weaver of Gettysburg, who meant the world to her. Two Sister In-laws Eileen (Sue) Rager and Arlene Weaver and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to those who helped the family goes out to Duane & Holly Claybaugh, Tom Williams, Helen Weaver, Barbara Loncar, Laura Davis, Larry Byers, Brent Fidler, Shelia McKim, and Compassus Hospice Care.
A service to celebrate Darlene’s life will be held announced at a later date. Please check back for updates.
