Clarence Deardorff
Cullison, Jr.

Born September 20, 1918 in Franklin Twp., Adams Co., PA, he was the son of the late Clarence D. Cullison, Sr. and Lena V. (Deardorff) Cullison.
Clarence was a member of Gettysburg Church of the Brethren. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II. He was wounded in Luxembourg in 1945 and received the Purple Heart along with the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal w/ 3 Bronze Stars. Clarence was employed with Musselman's as a shipping clerk for 33 years retiring in 1982. Prior he was also employed with Blue Ribbon Orchards, Franklin Twp. Building roads, the Panel Factory and later with Barbour's Fruit Stand on Rt. 30 and with his son selling firewood and landscape work for 21 years. Clarence was an avid deer hunter, refinishing antiques, carpentry work with his brother Oscar and had an undying love for the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a lifetime member of the Cashtown Fire Company and the American Legion in Biglerville.
Surviving is two daughters and a son: Patsy A. Carey and husband Ralph, Gettysburg; Nancy L. Richardson and her companion Raymond Kump, Gettysburg; Ricky C. Cullison and his wife Lauren, Gettysburg; one sister: Kathryn Kepner, Millersville; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth C. Cullison; 5 brothers: Harvey, Oscar, Russel, Norman and Chester Cullison; 4 sisters: Margaret Cullison, Letha Myers, Mildred Plank and Evelyn Spangler.
A service to celebrate the life of Clarence Deardorff Cullison, Jr. will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Gettysburg Church of the Brethren, 1710 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325 with Rev. George P. Heberling officiating. A time to share memories and have an oppurtunity to view will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, PA 17331 and on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Biglerville Cemetery, Biglerville. Graveside Military Honors will be provided by the Adams County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clarence to Lutheran Homecare and Hospice, 260 W. High Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
