Clarence M. "Tony" Clabaugh, 65, of Gettysburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Gettysburg Hospital. Married December 18, 1970, he was the husband of Evelyn J. (Wallen) Clabaugh.
Born September 4, 1943 in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Clarence A. and Ellen G. (Sprankle) Clabaugh.
Mr. Clabaugh was employed for 35 years as a manager with SKF Industries, Hanover, until his retirement in 2003. He served his country honorably as a veteran of the US Air Force. A 1962 graduate of Delone High School, Mr. Clabaugh attended York College and graduated with a BA in Business from Mt. St. Mary's University. He went on to receive his MBA from York College.
Mr. Clabaugh's favorite pastime was golf. One of his proudest accomplishments was his hole-in-one at Cedar Ridge Golf Course. He was also an active member in many local organizations, including the New Oxford Social Club, McSherrystown Home Association, Catholic War Veterans of Bonneauville, Republican Club of Hanover, Gettysburg Moose #1526, Gettysburg American Legion, and the Gettysburg Elks #1045. In his free time, Mr. Clabaugh also enjoyed doing wood work.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, Danny Wagaman of Texas, and Ronald Wagaman of Delaware; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with Pastor Bill Wallen officiating. A viewing will be held between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Wagaman, Ronald Wagaman, Larry Baublitz, Walt Kachele, Ed Bahl, and Bob McMaster.
