Christopher R. "Chris" Jones, 26, of Gettysburg passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his family after a long, hard fought battle with Muscular Dystrophy.

He was born August 14, 1989 in Towson, MD, the loving son of Robert and Melissa (Ross) Jones, Gettysburg.

Chris graduated from Gettysburg High School with the Class of 2007. He was an avid NASCAR fan and through the Make a Wish Foundation was able to meet his favorite driver, Tony Stewart. Chris enjoyed attending rock concerts, especially Iron Maiden, his favorite band. He was a Baltimore Ravens fan and enjoyed computer gaming, playing with friends all over the U.S. and Canada.

Although Chris struggled with Muscular Dystrophy, he always managed a smile even through the most difficult times. He was an Angel, a Trooper and a Warrior who will be greatly missed by all of those fortunate enough to have met him and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his paternal grandmother, Sandra Jones, Lutherville, MD; maternal grandfather, Edward John Ross, Jr., Pasadena, MD; uncles, Jack Ross and wife Cindy, Taneytown, MD, Ed Jones, Lutherville, MD and Joe Jones and wife Christie, living in Honduras; cousins, Kelly and husband Kevin O'Brien & son Cole, Hanover and Matthew, Tyler, Liam and Riley Jones all living in Honduras and his buddy and best friend, Barlow.

He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins in Maryland, Colorado & Upstate NY with many extended family members and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Jones and maternal grandmother, Wesley Ross.

A service to celebrate the life of Chris Jones will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Pastor Bob Gray officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. Rock N Roll
