Cheryl attended Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and enjoyed country music and having dinner with friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Warner and her husband Todd of Gettysburg and Kelly Smarsh and her husband Tom of Biglerville, sisters, Gen Mitz, East Berlin and Gloria Smith and her husband Henry, New Oxford, brother, Bruce Witter, Jr., Gettysburg, grandchildren, Emily Bankert, Hanover, Nicole Warner, Hummelstown, Kyle Smarsh, Gettysburg, Ryan Warner, Shippensburg and Allyson Smarsh, Biglerville, great grandchildren, Kiersten Bankert, Hanover, Adalyn Smarsh, Gettysburg and Jacob Bankert, Hanover and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Rev. Louis A. Nyiri officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Smarsh, Kyle Smarsh, Todd Warner and Ryan Warner.Contributions in memory of Cheryl M. (Witter) Smith may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 North Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
