Cathelene Stevens, 87 of Gettysburg passed peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Genesis Health Care, Gettysburg Center. She was the loving wife of the late John Bradley Stevens who died August 10, 1971.

She was born February 23, 1925 in Lewistown, PA the daughter of the late Luther and Mary Catherine (Collins) Everly.

Mrs. Stevens was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and after the death of her husband worked for the local tax office and later retired from the Adams County Courthouse.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Kahl and her husband Mike of Aiken, SC, Linda Smith and her husband Dave of Alburtis, PA, Drusilla Mitchell and her husband Rob of Roswell, GA and Jon Stevens of Littlestown, PA; brothers, Luther Everly and his wife Lillian of Buskirk, NY and Jim Everly and his wife Clara of Arlington, TX and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Rev. Michael E. Allwein officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Gettysburg National Cemetery Annex, Gettysburg.
