Born June 20, 1936, in Dillsburg, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Anna Mae (Thompson) Heighes.
Mrs. Gochenaur was employed for 21 years with Mott's, Inc., retiring in 1997. In her free time, she enjoyed walking and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Gochenaur also enjoyed playing cards, especially Solitaire, and cooking. Her family will always remember the great care given to her in her final days by her hospice caregivers and Medstaff.
Surviving are three sons, Bruce Gochenuar, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Middletown, PA, Richard Lee Gochenaur, and Wilbur J. Gochenaur and his fiancée Pam Zeigler, both of Biglerville; her brother, Joseph Heighes of Dillsburg; two sisters, Kate Trostle and Joyce Himes, both of Dillsburg; six grandchildren, Corey Gochenaur, Matthew Gochenaur, Mailaina Gochenaur, John Gochenaur, Kenny Zeigler, and Kanyon Crutcher; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan Gochenaur, Rachel Gochenaur, Emila Gochenaur, and Benjamin Gochenaur.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Heighes and June Heighes; and her sister, Sis Heighes.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with Pastor Marvin Stanley officiating. A viewing will be held beginning 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in York Springs. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the graveside service at Beatrice's house.
Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Gochenaur, Nathan Gochenaur, Jack Nailor, Kanyon Crutcher, Kenneth Zeigler, and Colton Cisney.
