Jane was active in the church all her life, including 34 years at the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia, later the Springfield Baptist Church, and then for the remainder of her life at the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church after Jane and Dan moved from the Philadelphia area to Gettysburg in 1981. Jane was a Sunday School teacher for many years, a Campfire Girls leader, active in the church choir, women's circles, and for many years enjoyed the "Gettysburg Newcomers Club." Jane was also a proud employee of the Adams County National Bank in Gettysburg for many years.
Jane enjoyed most her time with family, time in the sunshine doing a crossword puzzle, reading, time with friends from church, watering her flowers on her deck, and watching birds at her bird feeder. She was a perpetual optimist whose foundational scripture in life was "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and was a spiritual inspiration to her children and many who knew her.
