Born June 22, 1925 in York County, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Suzanna (Crist) Meckley.
Mrs. Lutz was a 1943 graduate of William Penn High School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in York and was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life. Upon her husband's retirement in 1982, the couple moved to Berlin, MD, where they were founding members of Trinity Charismatic Episcopal Church. In 1998, Mrs. Lutz returned to Pennsylvania in order to be closer to her family.
In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Lewin R. "Rich" Lutz III and his wife Sue of York, and Christian B. Lutz and his wife Elizabeth of York Haven; her daughter, Nancy E. Posey and her husband Dennis of Abbottstown; two brothers, Dick Meckley and Robert Meckley, both of York; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Ellen Wilhelm.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 140 N. Beaver St., York. Further details will be announced at a later date. The Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, is in charge of arrangements.
