Alma M. Smith, 93 of Gettysburg and formerly of Biglerville passed peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Clair E. Smith who died in 1975.
She was born April 21, 1918 in York Springs the daughter of the late John and Daisy Mae (Larue) Trump.
Mrs. Smith owned and operated Smith's Restaurants in York Springs, Aspers and Biglerville and later retired from Green Acres, Gettysburg where she was a cook. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Biglerville Fire Company and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Smith, Gettysburg; brother, Paul Trump, Glenolden; two very special nephews, Todd and Tim Guise, both of Biglerville who lovingly cared for her the past few years; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Ralph Trump and sisters, Esther Guise; Edith Chorley; Mabel Stambaugh and Faye Trump.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 11 AM at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg with Rev. Kim Blocher and Chaplain John Morrill officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Guise; Tim Guise; Daniel Guise; John Trump; Dale Pifer and Larry Smith.
